ESC in IRIDA

At Tvořivá dílna IRIDA, the European Solidarity Corps is a platform for solidarity, inclusion, and sustainable local impact. We create meaningful volunteering opportunities for young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, to grow through service, intercultural exchange, and non-formal learning while actively contributing to rural communities in Czechia.

ESC at IRIDA connects personal development with community transformation. Through cooperation with eco-farms, alternative schools, and local initiatives, we address real challenges such as social inclusion, environmental responsibility, and sustainable rural development. By revitalizing existing spaces and promoting community gardening, outdoor learning, and eco-conscious practices, we foster long-term solidarity, resilience, and active participation locally and across Europe.

Volunteers in Tvořivá dílna IRIDA

Individual volunteering

Hosted directly by Tvořivá dílna IRIDA, this activity focuses on strengthening youth work structures and developing new local initiatives in rural Czechia. Volunteers contribute to designing, piloting, and improving youth activities based on non-formal education, well-being, sustainability, and digital empowerment. They support project coordination, communication, outreach, and the promotion of European opportunities, gaining insight into how a grassroots NGO operates.

This activity offers hands-on experience in youth project development and organizational growth, while actively shaping IRIDA’s future local programmes.

Solidarity in Alternative Schools
Team volunteering

This activity takes place in alternative schools in the Czech Republic, including democratic, Waldorf, and forest models. These schools promote intrinsic motivation, inclusion, and child-centered learning. Volunteers become part of the school community, supporting creative, outdoor, and intercultural activities. The experience fosters meaningful exchange between international volunteers and local children in a holistic learning environment.

Eco-Volunteering for Sustainability
Team volunteering

This activity takes place in sustainable eco-farms across rural Czechia, where volunteers engage in organic farming, natural building, and environmental education. Farms function as community hubs promoting regenerative practices and ecological responsibility. Volunteers support daily work while co-creating workshops and community events. Through shared work and intercultural teamwork, they gain practical skills and deepen their understanding of sustainability and solidarity.
